's office in nevada which was actually across the state line. it took lake tahoe police reportedly more than a day and a half to notify nevada. we called them this morning and we are waiting to hear what they have to say about it. meantime, alyssa burns has not been seen since shortly before midnight according to friends who were with her. she was in town for a three day music festival which attracts thousands. she disappeared around 11:30 and told her friends she was taking a shuttle back to the resort. she was spotted by guests in the lobby around midnight. she worked as a hostess here in petaluma and was studying to be a paramedic firefighter at the campus. again she is described as 5- foot 3, long hair died black and a fair complexion. we'll see where all of this stands right now with the investigation. live in petaluma, ktvu channel 2 morning news. >>> a court arrangement is set for today accused of hitting and killing 2 innocent people in new year's morning. ktvu channel 2 morning news has obtained this armature video from south vanness on 21st street. david morales caused the deadly

cool here over all of nevada and california. this weak low along the coast will bring up just a little bit of light shower activity. most of you will see a quarter inch or more. is there more cold air on the way? this tracks the cold air from the arctic over the next seven days. you can see the blue shows where the cold is. it looks like for the most part throughout the upcoming weekend, much of the country warms up. then a little sliver of cold air comes down at us it. looks like tuesday, wednesday and thursday of next week and probably significantly kind of cold in areas of idaho and montana and near spokane. again, that's the middle of next week. so we get a little break from this cold spell. then it looks like next week gets chilly in the northwest, but today's forecast again, just a few late-day showers. that's the only weather headline out there. that's a look at the nationalou california, enjoyable right through the weekend. i don't think you mind the cold so much as long as it is sunny. when you get the cold and cloudy it is a lot worse. >> that does make things worse. thank yo

lake tahoe. her father is searching for her after she failed to return to the horizon casino in nevada. we are live in petaluma with the latest on the story. >> the ultimate good news is that alyssa byrne has been found. her father is up there watching the search-and-rescue effort. he is very impressed by what he is seeing. here in petaluma, the entire town seems to be rallying around the missing girl. >> 2,585 members strong. with more adding on every minute. >> the father is amazed at facebook response. a couple of sightings since noon yesterday on the "find alyssa byrne page." she disappeared after going to a concert with friends. the last call was 11:30 and was seen at the hotel at midnight. then nothing. her mother is staying behind in petaluma in case she turns up here. word this morning is investigators will check bank records. >> at this point, they were considering even going door to door in the casinos to do a door to door-to-door check. 20 friends have driven to south lake tahoe to get out the word. a close friend is headed to tahoe tomorrow and talked and texted with alyssa

measurement of the snow in the sierra nevada and guess what! yup. 134% of normal. looking good so far. of course, that means nothing of in we completely dry out right now. but so far, so good. lots of snow, lots of water in the high sierra. we are dry though now in the bay area. well, those temperatures are getting cold in spots. 27 degrees right now in napa. 29 in concord. 28 degrees in santa rosa and 30 degrees in livermore. going to see widespread frost around the bay area again this morning. if you are heading out another cold start to the day. afternoon sunshine then the temperatures right around cease until for this time of year. changes by the weekend though. we could see a couple of showers move back in. but for today, high pressure holding on. starting to slide eastward now. we'll see a few high clouds from this weak system making its way into far northern california. other than that we are going to keep things nice and dry. around the state, maybe some showers toward the eureka area but nice and dry into the centra valley. 50s in fresno. 44 lake tahoe. 47 yosemite. 59 monter

, nevada, all of those governors will be interesting to see how many of them are very vulnerable in 2014 or not. christie, obviously, is the 2013 -- not very null vulnerable. maine, very vulnerable. this could be where some of the action is here. democratic legislatures here. here are the places where there are democratic governors and a divided legislature. arkansas, missouri and montana. arkansas is sort of the lone holdout in the south where republicans have gotten everything. but they have super majorities in places like missouri and arkansas. so they have effectively -- they can override any veto of the democratic governor, whether it's tax rates, any of those things. so they have effective control on that front. let's look at this, the other places where there is divided government in iowa, the house and senate. the governor there, republican governor. new hampshire, oh, you've seen there, not surprising. washington state, a little surprising. since it's a state with democratic dominance, if you will. and kentucky, a little surprising, since it's a state with republican dominance.

in nevada and has a silicon valley feel. great pay and perks and fun culture. the model there is create a little fun and weirdness. >> i always heard recently airlines are struggling yet you like one airline in particular, southwest airlines. why is that on your list? >> your perception of airlines is right. southwest is the exception. southwest a long time ago decided the best way to forgive their customers a great experience is make sure the people who work there are having a good time. they have great pay, great benefits and really fun culture. >> what jobs specifically might people be looking for at southwest airlines? >> there are a lot of jobs at southwest. it's the same culture. work had the gate, flight attendant, pilot. >> have to have the training to be a pilot. recent college grad, might want to train a little bit. you say the state department and government it contracting company called fci federal are good places. >> if you're going to work for the government, why not work at the part of the government that will send you to a foreign lo kail, teach you a foreign language. t
